About

Huaxia Manor, part of COFCO's Great Wall Winery brand, was founded in 1988 on a roughly 5.6 million-square-meter estate north of Changli town. As a national 4A scenic area and one of China's first industrial-tourism demonstration sites, it houses Asia's largest underground wine cellar alongside vineyards, an automated bottling line and a wine research institute. Visitors can tour the cellar, see grape cultivation demonstration plots, and join guided tastings, making it a good stop for wine enthusiasts and families interested in China's red-wine heritage.

Before you go

  • Reported ticket prices vary online (roughly ¥30-80), so confirm the current price through an official channel or booking platform before you set out.
  • You can add a wine-tasting package on site to sample several dry red wines.
  • The autumn grape harvest (September-October) is the best time to visit, and it pairs well with a stop at nearby Grape Valley.
  • The underground wine cellar is noticeably cool, so bring a light jacket.
  • As a designated industrial tourism site, the grounds are fairly large — budget at least 2-3 hours for a visit.

Tickets Tickets run roughly ¥60-80 depending on the season, though the site's own historical data lists ¥30 — a discrepancy from more recent figures — so check the official or third-party booking price on the day of your visit. Reports indicate free admission for children under 1.2 m and seniors over 70, and some sources mention a half-price discount for Qinhuangdao residents with local ID (possibly an outdated policy). Prices and discounts change between peak and off-peak seasons, so confirm the current price and whether wine tasting is included via a platform like Ctrip or by phone before buying.

Hours Generally open 08:30-17:30 on regular days and 08:00-18:00 on holidays. Other sources give different seasonal hours: roughly 08:40-16:30 from April 1 to October 15, and roughly 09:10-16:30 from October 16 to January 31 and February 2 to March 31 — check the hours posted on site.
